Morgantown, West Virginia (NOVEMBER 5th, 2019) – West Virginia is set to become the latest collegiate athletic program to add PlaySight’s Smart AI and connected camera sports video technology to its facilities. The Mountaineers basketball coaches and student-athletes will soon benefit from PlaySight’s pro-level video and performance tools across its basketball programs. West Virginia joins a growing list of Big 12 Conference athletic departments training and playing with PlaySight video technology, including Baylor, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas and Iowa State.
Ryan McIntyre, the Video Coordinator for the Men’s Basketball team, shared how important video is to their program at West Virginia. “Video is a huge part of what we do. We watch film daily as a coaching staff and are always looking for an advantage or a more efficient way of doing things. We believe this system will take our video and analytics portions of our program to the next level and will help assist film breakdowns with our staff and players on a daily basis.”
One specific feature of PlaySight’s connected camera platform that college programs are most excited about is the multi-angle synced cameras. “We will use PlaySight primarily for practice film to show different angles and perspectives. These different angles will provide our coaching staff and players more film,” said McIntyre.
